IBM X3100 Tower Server (Entry Level Server)
IBM ServerGuide™ helps you set up and configure the system, so you can deploy your new server quickly.
Leveraging the latest Intel® processor technology, the x3100 provides all the performance and features you need in a business server, without unnecessary complexity. This simplified approach means you spend less time managing your server.
The x3100 is designed with small businesses in mind, giving you the capabilities to meet today's needs - and the flexibility to adapt, as your business needs change. Pre-tested components including tape backup, RAID adapters and uninterrupted power supplies can help expand the system's capability when you need it, while helping enable server compatibility.
Offered at an entry price, and with the backing of IBM service and support, the x3100 can help you manage growth in your business.
A TCP/IP Off-load Engine (TOE) helps deliver greater network throughput and efficiency by off-loading the TCP/IP processing to a dedicated processor, freeing up the main system processor in web-based applications or when using iSCSI.
The new X3100 Tower servers offer up to 8GB of fully buffered DIMM memory, twice the memory capacity of the previous generation. This allows for simultaneous reads/writes of memory and can help improve performance in virtualized workloads.
SATA hard drives deliver the performance and reliability for critical business applications, and provide greater value for systems that rely on external storage and fiber-channel storage.
PCI Express® I/O expansion facilitates greater I/O throughput and support for high-bandwidth I/O peripherals, such as Infiniband, 4GB fiber channel and future 10GB Ethernet.
Availability without Compromise
IBM addresses the need for high availability in the new X3100™ Tower by providing SATA RAID options — without sacrificing expandability and including support for High Availability Clustering and deployment in SANs. Redundant NICs and redundant cooling fans help keep the servers running smoothly.
Setting the Standard for Manageability
SATA hard drive carriers and memory options are common across the entire line of X3100 Tower servers. The X3100 feature standardized drivers and BIOS.
